Gluten free scones
You can pair this tasty scones with your favorite fruits.
This time I chose cheese instead of whipped cream and added strawberries.
Ingredients and preparation steps
This amount of ingredients is enough for about 8 scones.
For a larger amount, just double the ingredients.
150 g of gluten-free flour mixture
1/2 baking powder
1/4 teaspoon of xanthan gum
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
50 g of butter
60 ml of milk kefir
1 egg for cakes
1 egg for coating
Addition: 300 g of kefir cheese and the amount of strawberries as desired.
Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, xanthan gum, cinnamon and salt. Then add the diced butter and mix with the flour.
Add kefir, egg cake and mix into the dough. If necessary, add flour if the dough sticks or a little kefir if it is dry.
Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1 cm and cut out the cakes using a glass with thinner edges. Arrange them on the pan on which you put the baking paper.
Beat the egg for coating and coat the scones.
Bake them for about 20 minutes, until they get a golden yellow color.
Allow them to cool then coat with kefir cheese and add the strawberries!
If you want a sweeter taste, add a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup to the cheese.
